I was introduced to Lily Everett's stories when I attended RWA Nationals and walked away with a signed copy of Sanctuary Island as my holy grail of the event. I'd heard about the setting of the series, which immediately made me think of my beloved Chincoteague Island and simply had to have a copy. I devoured that first book, and did the same with Shoreline Drive.

Without recapping the entire story, I will say that the aspect I found most satisfying was Ben and Merry's interactions. Their core relationship stayed true from beginning to end. Ben is a grouch (for good reason), and I appreciate that he remained Ben, that Merry remained Merry, and the two accepted each other without demanding a total transformation in character. That right there makes the love story feel so true and satisfying. I eagerly await the next installment in the series.

the best of the series
This is a series that will have you eager to read the next book. I totally enjoy the writing style of LIly Everett and he stories touch you in a way most do not. You will not want the saga to end.
Have loved this series starting with the billionaire Brother novellas, to Sanctuary Island. Sometimes while reading these books, I can picture it so perfectly in my mind, I feel like I could be living there too. Loved this storyline and can't wait to read more!
Oh, I liked this one. A gruff loner veterinarian with a crush on a sunny younger woman with a baby. He can't emotionally risk so he proposes a marriage of convenience. Fun!

I haven't read the rest of the books in this series but I plan to do so. I didn't need to have read them to enjoy this one.

The heat level is very low and behind closed doors but you still feel the heat. The small town, other characters and the hero and heroine come together to make this a moving romance with very human lovers.

There is some high drama around his parents that I felt was a bit over the top and took from the realism of the story of single motherhood and the hero's grief but overall I excited to have discovered this writer.

It was just what I wanted in a contemporary marriage of convenience romance!
I love marriage of convenience stories and there aren't nearly enough of them written with a contemporary setting. Everett does a great job making this setup believable and romantic! I love gruff (but lonely) Ben, and his sexy banter with the heroine, Merry. This is a story about finding love and community on a beautiful island setting, and is everything a Romance fan could hope for.
SPOILER ALERT ~~~~ Wonderful story covering a gamut of human emotions ! Thanks Lily Everett. A few things missing tho, why no dogs in this story, other than on the outskirts, as Bens a Vet. Would have been great to have a dog as one of the family. I felt frustrated that Ben didn't end up adopting Alex. Also, frustration that he didn't someway, tell his parents to take a flying leap ! They needed to be OUT of the picture forever and completely !! Also, I love epilogues, they are usually very meaningful, esp with a beloved story where we need to know what's going on a bit in the future. Maybe you'll cover some in the next book ?!
Easy reading romance featuring Merry and Ben. Merry is pregnant and moved to Sanctuary Island to reunite with her mother. She is happy-go-lucky always smiling. Ben is the island vet who has lived on the island, for a few years, to escape a secret and his wealthy overbearing parents. He does not express emotions and is rather blunt. After Ben delivers Merry's boy, he proposes a marriage of convenience which Merry accepts. They are working through the arrangements agreed to when Ben's parents suddenly appear with Merry's ex-boyfriend. How will it turn out with her ex-boyfriend wanting the opportunity to get to know his son and Ben afraid he will lose both Merry and her son which is all he has every wanted? Good romance.
