Yeah Right, I've got moral issues here, big time!!! Why would an author of some really good fiction stoop to creating a heroine who could not command respect from anyone? She is, first of all, a goldigger, secondly, she is a cheat, casting her eyes on guys while accepting a sumptious lifestyle from her husband. Thirdly, she is immoral. If she doesn't like her husband's extracurricular activities she should get out of the marriage. Instead she chose to stay and sneak around behind his back. I don't know who could like this gal, or this book, for that matter..A waste of time and money!!!

I almost didn't read it be because off the reviews but it was a darn good book. I liked that Ronnie was not a completely rootable heroine. I also enjoyed the love story and mystery. Well written, soapy and a fun read.
I've always loved Karen Robards books but this one left me feeling blah. First you have Ronnie, the Senator's wife and there's just no real depth to her at all. All she ever wanted in life was to be rich and have it all and she's got that but no happiness. Mrs. Robards made her out to be a shallow nit wit that needs a man to take care of her problems. I was never able to feel any emotion for this character. I loved Tom at first. I thought now here's a character I can get in to.. then he ruined it. He says in the beginning he's divorced cause his wife slept with every man around when he was on the road. Then, later he admits that he ALSO slept around while he was married to her and justifies it by 'not loving her after 2yrs' & if I'm correct they were married for 12plus years. But then he finds her with another man and goes crazy. It was ok for him to cheat but oh no she can't! Then, later you find out he has a serious girlfriend he's been with for YEARS! But while trying to resist Ronnie because she's married the girlfriend is never mentioned. It's ok to cheat on a long time girl friend I guess. The ending made me actually feel something for Ronnie. As in, bless her heart he's gonna cheat on her when the next hottie comes onto him. Tom's partner Kenny even has an affair in the book and I didn't see the point!! When Kenny called Tom to go find Ronnie at the bar and Tom asked him to go with him his excuse was 'company' (which tells later what is) why couldn't he have been sick or anything else? All that said I still love Karen Robards and will continue to read her but I'm glad I only spent 6$ for this book. I feel it could have been much, much better than it was. It seems it was tossed together in a rush or by a ghost writer that was supposed to be writing for Danielle Steele instead of Ms. Robards.
This book kept my interest the entire way through. There were some steamy scenes, some romance, suspense, and an interesting plot. I will recommend this book to friends. Also, I am going to read more books by this author asap.
Transitions at first were confusing. Loved the romance in the novel and the intrigue. Surprised at who was behind the murders.

Very cute and sweet love story. I wish I read this book first because the last book regarding political scandal and murder was so well written it has just eclipsed this book. I have to admit I didn't know the true bad guy until the end, but the main characters were horrible about being secretive. Still very good book.
