The Codex eBook Justin Swapp

Justin Swapp has collected here his two, related tales from the demon-hunting anthology series, The Crimson Pact. The first is a short, intriguing and disturbing tale of dark confusion which will draw you into the world. The second, a longer, more action-oriented tale develops the mythology and the methods of the eternal fight of The Crimson Pact against the forces of darkness of this world ... of all worlds. The stories do a great job of being intriguing enough to draw you in and propell you along, without frustrating you. Justin knows his story-telling and his action, so read 'em as a standalone or as an introduction to the worlds of The Crimson Pact. Definitely recommended. Donald J. Bingle, fellow Crimson Pact author and author of many other books and stories, including Grim, Fair e-Tales.

The Codex eBook Justin Swapp Reviews

I was drawn in and couldn't stop listening. Engaging and you'll feel as if you're part of the story. I will most certainly find more of Justin's writing and read them or listen to them as the case may be. He does great work.
I received a copy from Justin, the author, a long time ago. I finally got around to reading it. His tone is dark, and his tale even darker. Yes, he got his idea from The Crimson Pact, but that makes his characters stronger. His writing is beautiful and dark. I highly recommend his writing, and I recommend following his blog as well if you get the chance.
Great stories based on an influential novela, "Failed Crusade," which is introduced as the first story. Failed Crusade is awesome, you can see why so many authors used the world as a foundation for new stories.
Swapp does it justice. Dark, good stuff. If you like stories like Dan Simmons' "Hyperion," you'll really enjoy these. I hope he writes more stories in the world of the Codex.
This was an enjoyable fantasy book that was actually several related short stories in one. I listened to the Audible version of this story, but I had kind of a hard time with the narrator. It sounded as if he was whispering most of the story (and no, I did not have the volume turned down). Other than that, it was fine. The stories went along at a good pace and drew me in. Overall, a good book and worth the read for fantasy fans.
As a heavy Audible listener but, not a heavy Sci-Fi fictional listener, I found myself instantly pulled in and hooked. I found this to be a very entertaining listen and would recommend this book. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was because the narrator was a little bit harder for me to adjust to than usual because he speaks in a whispery-like voice. Overall, I would highly recommend this book!
I was given the audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the narrator's style, and found pictures forming in my brain from his words without any trouble.
This book kept my interest all the way through. I found the premise interesting, and while demon hunting stories aren't usually my genre, it really was riveting. The plot was brain stretching, in a good way, as I tried to project possible outcomes before they occurred. Characters were well done, and at the risk of giving spoilers, I enjoyed the evolving journey of self discovery that took place.
Violence was present but not extreme, though certainly not suitable for children. I very much appreciated the non-explicit content, as I personally do not enjoy stories with extreme violence, bad language and an emphasis on poor morals. Fingers crossed the other books by this author hold to the same high standards, as I am keen to check out more of his work.
Great story. Enthralling. This is well written, concise and thoroughly engaging. Tough to write short stories but he nailed it. I look forward to Mr. Swapp's next book.
